Is there a way to play MUGEN online with other players?

Will there be online play in later releases?

I want that post back. It said

"There are no plans for netplay in the near future"

I cannot find it now and it looked much better coming from elecbyte. Please read the HUGE NUMBER of threads in this forum about it and restrain yourself from posting an opinion as there is a 100% chance you'll be reiterating something thats been said, or beating a dead horse. Either/or.

"There are no plans for netplay in the near future"
You sure? o_O

I remember them posting in a kinda detailed manner what stuff they were planning (specially tag team) but NOT mentioning netplay, and thus I inferred it wasn't to be implemented in the near future... but that's it. :P

Any WebArchive on this?

3. Elecbyte will make Elecbyte's own company? Which you choose agree or disagree?

Seeing how long mugen has been in RCs and seeing how long it's taking just to get to 1.1 release, why would they focus on online play seeing how time consuming it is, plus why do that when they can get all the other suggestions out the way. Netplay is the most time consuming and if they did it before anything else they thought about adding to mugen , it would be like working backwards. Case closed

Nope, it was definitely there. But the blog appears to have been cut down or lost some posts. It's not there now.

I know i read it, i would not forget a total shutdown argument like that.

Ok, so this is my first post here, and from what I've seen on other forums regarding MUGEN, everyone has a rude or hateful answer to every question/suggestion from non-mods/non-coders/non-staff. Now, with that being said, I have a few questions, and hopefully I won't get flamed just for asking...
First of all, regarding online play, is this just something that Elecbyte has no interest in at all, or just something that is not of the highest priority for them and will be implemented in later builds?
Secondly, regarding the source-code (Which I know is not open-source, and apparently is a sensitive topic to EVERYONE)... From what I've gathered, there is no interest at all in cross-platform ports, I've heard about a version of Mugen on the X-Box, but am confused to how they ported this w/out the source-code? I (along with countless others) would LOVE to see Mugen on the Wii. (Not a request, I just want to know your [Elecbyte's] position on this topic.) I just don't understand why you would want your (Great) product to be so limited in how (and on what system) it is played. I understand you want to keep your source-code a secret, I just don't really understand why. Are you planning on selling Mugen at some point?
Well, I had more questions, but this probably isn't the right post for them. Thanks for reading, -KC-

Online play: Online is difficult to manage in a totally customisable engine like mugen while holding to the flexibility of it. The engine still has bugs and there's lots of new features that really should come before something that is basically a luxury item.

Most people would be happy if online play showed up, but we don't want to push for it as there really are other things that should take precedence.

Even making use of kalliera code for online will require at minimum a frontend to be written and it's all a lot of work for something that elecbyte shouldn't have to support at a later time. (seriously, i don't wanna see people showing up complaining about user/character X being cheap) Horrible horrible.
